I’m a Celebrity’s Josie Gibson rushed to hospital when she “couldn’t breathe” after show stint

Josie Gibson, a participant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, disclosed that she felt ill on the flight back from the jungle. Reflecting on her experience on this year’s show, which was ultimately won by Sam Thompson of Made in Chelsea, Gibson shared that she began to feel “really unwell” during her return to the UK. “I will just say the jungle was an adventure, and I was glad I did it, but when I was on the flight coming home, I started to feel really unwell and shivering,” she mentioned during her appearance on Loose Women on December 21.

Gibson explained that she was hospitalized with “severe tonsillitis” upon her return. She shared, “When I got back, I had severe tonsillitis and I couldn’t breathe and got taken to the hospital on Friday, and they put me on a drip and gave me lots of steroids to bring the swelling down so I could breathe again.”

She went on to express gratitude to the staff at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath, mentioning that her return as co-host of This Morning was uncertain after her health scare. “It was a bit touch and go on whether I could make This Morning, so I just want to thank everybody that works at the RUH in Bath,” she said. “Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to do This Morning, and they really took care of me, so thank you. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses.”
