First look at Nicholas Hoult and Willem Dafoe in Nosferatu

New images from “Nosferatu,” the upcoming film featuring Nicholas Hoult and Willem Dafoe, have been unveiled. Building on his role in “Renfield,” the X-Men actor Hoult returns to another vampire-themed movie, playing the character Thomas Hutter, inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula’s Jonathan Harker. Hoult will share the screen with Dafoe, who portrays Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, and Bill Skarsgård as the character Count Orlok, not quite Dracula.

In the first image, Hoult is seen with sideburns, looking disturbed as a creepy hand pours him a drink. In the second image, Dafoe appears in front of a crypt, seemingly as it goes up in flames around him, raising questions about whether he caused the fire.

In addition to these new images, the film’s UK release date has been announced. While it was previously known that “Nosferatu” would be released on Christmas Day 2024 in the US, the UK release date was uncertain until now. The movie is confirmed to debut in the UK on January 1, 2025.

The film “Nosferatu” is directed by Robert Eggers, known for his work on “The Northman.” Eggers has hinted that the movie will be a classic Gothic horror story. Describing it as an old-school Gothic horror film, he anticipates that audiences will find it genuinely scary, emphasizing a return to the roots of horror.

Robert Eggers mentioned that the upcoming version of “Nosferatu” will place a greater emphasis on the character of Ellen compared to previous adaptations by FW Murnau and Werner Herzog. He expressed high praise for Lily-Rose Depp, describing her performance as “absolutely phenomenal” in the role of Ellen.
